Del Norte County Shelter – Phase I represents a critical step forward in addressing homelessness in the region. This 60-bed congregate shelter provides a safe, stable environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, operating year-round to meet the community’s most urgent needs. Designed within a Housing First framework, Phase I combines immediate access to shelter with relationship-based case management, helping residents move beyond crisis and toward long-term stability. As the first phase of a broader Navigation Center model, the shelter establishes the foundation for a coordinated system of care in Del Norte County—connecting individuals to housing, healthcare, and essential services while improving overall community health and safety.

Del Norte County Shelter – Phase II represents the next step in the continuum of care on the Navigation Center campus, introducing 60 tiny house units designed to support individuals and families as they move beyond immediate crisis. Building on the 60-bed congregate shelter in Phase I, these units provide a more private, stable, and dignified environment where residents can continue their progress toward permanent housing. Supported by relationship-based case management, Phase II creates a critical bridge between emergency shelter and long-term housing. By expanding capacity and strengthening pathways forward, this phase enhances the overall system of care—helping individuals transition from homelessness to stability while reducing returns to crisis and improving outcomes for the broader community.

Mission Redemption is Del Norte Mission Possible’s Clean Sweep-style initiative creating a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming Crescent City. Through structured, supervised work opportunities, participants maintain sidewalks, business corridors, public spaces, and restore natural habitats impacted by encampments—protecting both our downtown and our environment.

In partnership with Del Norte Solid Waste, Mission Redemption crews are already making a measurable impact—collecting over 16,000 pounds of trash each month. This is real, visible change. But to sustain and expand this work, we need local partners.
We are calling on Crescent City businesses to partner with us to support dedicated cleanup routes in the areas you care about most. By working together, we can create a consistent, proactive presence that keeps our community clean while building pathways forward for individuals working to rebuild their lives.
This is more than cleanup—it’s a shared solution.

Solving homelessness in Del Norte County takes more than one program—it takes a community-built system. From emergency shelter to transitional housing to ongoing community impact, there are meaningful ways to be part of this work.
